With EHR as with most internet systems your best defense is a strong password that is frequently changed. We recommend that you change your passwords at least every 90 days, and everyone with access to the system should change passwords every 90 days. This will seem like a nuisance until it prevents a cyber attacker from getting in. We also recommend using strong passwords. A strong password is one that has letters, numbers, uppercase, lowercase, and special characters. These should be mixed in a way you can remember, but that would be very difficult to guess. |

Our goal is to implement your system so that emergency support is not needed. We will recommend system configurations that are inherently robust and proven to keep operating even under the most adverse of conditions. When emergency support is needed we prioritize according to life critical needs. Very high availability and reliability is possible, and expensive. We will configure your system per your needs and budget. |

Cloud computing can be more secure than paper. When data are stored in a cloud actual physical storage is segmented. Part of the data are stored in one place and part in a physically different place. Unless access is through a portal that can be tightly secured, whatever someone might see would be incomplete gibberish. Paper could be viewed by anyone who can get in the file room. Someone can walk off with a paper record, but the cloud record can only be viewed with appropriate passwords provided. |

We will be happy to come to your site as frequently as desired. However, we do need to charge minimums for on site work. Usually we charge a 4 hour minimum for work that is within a one hour drive. We charge a 6 hour minimum for work that is within a two hour drive. For work that is more than two hours away under normal driving conditions, we do charge half our hourly rate for driving time. When it is possible to provide support remotely, we will support you in 15 minute increments, with no minimums and no travel charges. |
